My Story

Hi, I’m Milla. I'm a fully qualified naturopathic nutritional therapist based in Derbyshire.

Originally from Finland, I enjoyed an idyllic childhood spent outdoors, picking blueberries, making mud-potions, cycling, and swimming in lakes. Unfortunately, I also faced multiple health issues as a child, like constant ear infections and digestive problems, often relying on antibiotics and over-the-counter medicines.

In my early 20s, I moved to London and led an unhealthy lifestyle, going out a lot, working late nights and eating packaged foods. A job at a healthy East-London cafe finally changed my perspective, sparking an interest in cooking, superfoods and regular exercise.

I later moved to Berlin in 2014 but I still suffered from severe hay fever, hormonal skin issues, multiple allergies, and digestive issues and I was relying on daily antihistamines to keep my allergies under control. Around that time, my husband contracted Lyme disease from a tick bite, which prompted me to explore natural remedies such as herbs and nutrition to support his and my own health. I also fell pregnant with my first child and that started my quest for optimal health. Discovering the transformative effects of healthy food, medicinal mushrooms and supplements on both our health inspired me to move back to the UK and study at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in Manchester.

Continuing Education and Professional Growth

I graduated with a distinction in 2020 and my training included 200 hours of clinical experience.  I can honestly say that all my digestive and skin issues that I had before are now gone and I feel truly amazing, even though I am managing life with broken sleep (3 children!). I still get some seasonal allergies but they are not taking over my whole life anymore like before and I am using natural tools to keep them under control.

I'm registered with the ANP (Association of Naturopathic Practitioners). I continually attend CPD training to further my expertise and to stay up-to-date in the fast moving field of nutritional science.

I hold a particular fascination for medicinal mushrooms and have been incorporating them into my daily routine for the past decade to support both my family's and my own health. Additionally, I've pursued extra training to deepen my understanding of the uses of medicinal mushrooms. You can read my blog post about the uses of medicinal mushrooms for women’s health here.

My mission now is to promote health and wellness and to encourage you to make positive changes of your own. I want to provide you with all the personalised healing tools that I have learnt along the way so that you can feel your best too. I firmly believe there are continuous opportunities to enhance our well-being. I won't end my search for the underlying cause of your illness until we identify and address it.

Your health matters, and I'm dedicated to finding solutions.

Outside of my professional life, I'm a busy mom of three wonderful and wild children—Cassius, River and Sage. Our family enjoys long walks in the Peak District and during the summer we love camping in our self-converted campervan. Nature plays an important role in my life, providing grounding amidst the business of life.

Beyond that, I love activities like yoga, pilates, women’s circles, meditation, singing, kirtan, drumming, cold showers, wild swimming, reading, cooking, traveling, attending festivals and gigs, foraging, and spending quality time with friends and family.
